Barranquilla Carnival
| The Barranquilla Carnival does not have the pomp, size, and sizzle of Rio de Janeiro but it does have the enthusiasm, enjoyment and the added beauty of exotic Colombian women. Instead of large numbers of floats most of the participants are on foot dressed in costumes dancing, marching or playing music. Political satire is mixed in between the dance troupe's numbers. The first Carnival parade will last about 6 hours and with each subsequent day it is shorter. When the show is over due to the large crowds and limited street access you will have a long walk before you will be able to reach a taxi. |
